Each image is an open window onto the soul of Cambodia;
a visual story that drags the viewer into the nuances
hidden in society. These photographs are not simple shots,
but powerful testimonies of lives often ignored, immersed in a
context of extreme precariousness, yet rich in dignity and resistance.
The lens captures the essence of the everyday life of marginalized communities,
whose existence is marked by a chronic lack of resources
essential: housing, electricity, basic services. Every image
tells a story of resilience, of people who, despite everything,
they find the strength to smile, to keep hope alive.
Photographs speak the universal language of humanity, they challenge
indifference and invite us to reflect on the meaning of
social justice.
I was alone in this land living for a month hosted by
a local family. I was there to carry out a volunteer activity
in a small school center in Bakong with the children and young people of
village. I lived without running water, very little electricity, without
shower, refrigerator and using the fire for cooking. It was though
at this moment in my journey that I have set myself the goal of
bring these truths to light and use photography as an act
of denunciation and at the same time a hymn to the indomitable strength of
human spirit. It is an invitation to look, not just see. I wanted
tell stories that deserve to be heard, showing the
world where, behind material poverty, wealth is hidden
incalculable human.
